STEVE MILLER

Steve Miller has been working with art, science and technology since 1980.  He has collaborated with the 2003 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, Rod MacKinnon, in a project about human protein.
He has worked at Brookhaven National Labs and
at CERN in Geneva where he lectured to the Theory Group.
For a decade, Miller worked on a photographic project about the Amazon.  Miller proposed to give Brazil, our planetary lungs, a medical check-up by taking x-rays of the flora and fauna.
The project entitled Heath of the Planet has been published as two monographs, Radiographic, and Surf/Skate published by Glitterati Editions.  His work has been presented as solo exhibitions in Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Hong Kong, Rio, London, Boston , New York City and, most recently, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC.

His project entitled Heath of the Planet has been published as a three book monographs, Radiographic, Surf/Skate and Surfing the Cosmos published by G Editions.
Neil de Grasse Tyson wrote the forward for Surfing the Cosmos, the final volume of this series about energy and the environment.  All three books are reviewed at www.surfingthecosmos.com.

His work has been presented in over 50 solo exhibitions in Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille, Munich, Hong Kong, Rio, London, Boston , New York City and, most recently, at the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, DC.

Miller has a continuing interest in fashion both as a designer and as an artist making x-rays of his mother’s luxury collection.
He has designed clothing for Osklen, Brazil, Art Multiples, Kathmandu Project (Art Rug Projects), James Paul Cheung and under his own label at healthoftheplanet.art. Miller designs one of a kind custom surfboards and skatedecks available at stevemiller.art and edition skatedecks for
Always Timeless.

At CERN, Miller understood the importance of data as a cultural paradigm shift which led him to co-found the software company ARTERNAL.
The art business lacked the technology and statistics that Miller discovered in advanced physics and new software was needed to drive the business of art.  ARTERNAL is an ecosystem of digital tools which makes the art world more sustainable and brings it up to current standards. ARTERNAL brings Miller’s history of insider experience to understand the fundamental needs of the industry,  complimented by outsider perspective of science, data analytics and curiosity.
Steve Miller currently works and resides in Sagaponack and NYC NY.
